Project Background
A construction general contractor had concerns about the applicability of lead, asbestos, and PCB regulations related to a large blimp hangar restoration project. OMS Infrastructure Services, LLC (OMS IS) were engaged to act as owner’s agent to conduct an audit of existing lead abatement work practices against client, regulatory, statutory, and contractual standards, and requirements.Initial findings were reported to our client, and they asked OMS IS to document subcontractor contractual requirements, deficiencies, and gaps.
Scope
OMS IS staff provided weekly site audits and risk assessments related to subcontractor regulatory compliance and contractual requirements. Auditors documented findings, summarized gaps and deficiencies, quantified deviations from regulatory requirements and developed memoranda of findings. OMS IS were also engaged to provide regulatory guidance, training, corrective actions, and contract risk assessments on behalf of our client. Findings were utilized as the basis for review of requested change orders and OMS IS staff were engaged to guide and advise on the merits of requested contract change orders. OMS IS staff were able to save our client over $1M in requested change orders.
